AUDITIONS

Since I don't plan to have a proper narrative, the music video would mainly consist of a dance performance. Therefore, it was important to find an actress who knew how to dance and was okay with her video being posted online. Finding a girl who falls under this criteria will be challenging. I asked a few girls if they were willing to act and they agreed. Thereafter, I told them that they'd have to audition, sent them the song and explained what they'll have to do. I carried out these auditions today and was satisfied with them. However, to be on the safe side I asked a few others to audition as well (next week).

Changing the song for my Music Video

I tend to change my song preference quite easily depending on my mood. After listening to 'NOT TO LATE' many times and trying to think about ideas, the rather uplifting melody of 'CRUSH' greatly appealed to me. The first time I stumbled upon this song, I instantly got hooked onto it and decided to make its music promotion video. The music video of  CRUSH ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiAuAJBZuGs ) is as entertaining as the song itself. This was one of the factors that drove me to change my song. I was appealed by the idea of creating a fun and cheerful music video consisting mainly of dance sequences, cool editing, and animations rather than compiling a series of different narratives that would require a lot more effort to make it interesting.  Another music video that I am a fan of is 'Got Me Feeling Like' by Trevor Moran ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOKdZbwEMFY ). I came across this song before the start of this school session and have had

Dignity Day Video

Today we celebrated dignity day in our school and being the head of filmmaking society I made a video about it. The video started off with a fun fast-paced soundtrack to create suspense and interest. I added text with a simple question, in the start, to encourage engagement with the audience; which is ironic since this video can be considered a part of hot media (which demands little interaction from the viewer/user).  Two interviews were added to give the video a documentary feel.  A smooth audio transition from the diegetic and non-diegetic sounds of the interviewee and background score respectively to an 'Urdu poetry' was made. The poetry was accompanied by slow-motion shots of students and lower staff members to give a dramatic effect.   https://youtu.be/kzJ9UjASq3c

Trying out shots for final video (2)

Slow motion and Lip sync  In today's class assignment, we had to film an actress lip-syncing to a song that was sped up twice its original speed. The video clip was then slowed down to half its speed in Adobe Premiere Pro, and synchronized with the song (of original speed). https://youtu.be/gLMcL-O3KKc

Planning My Music Promotional Video

Even though, I have a general idea of the storyline of my music video, thinking of specific situations I want to portray can be challenging. I don't want to base my music video on a single problem which will make it very boring, so I've decided to incorporate many different situations in the video in a jumbled order. I made rough sketches of the different shots I wanted to take and the effects of wanted to add.                      I want to take a long video clip in which the actor is in the middle of the road and cars are moving beside him. The clip will be sped up to create a timelapse with lines of light created by the lights of the car.
