Arranging Props (1)

The car to be used as a 'police car' is a white Toyota Corolla.  For a seamless transition from the car scene to the dinky scene, the toy car had to be fairly similar to the police car. Hence, I went to different toy stores to find the perfect toy car. The shape, size, and price of the toy cars were taken into consideration before I could purchase the perfect dinky.                               I noted down the prices and pictures of the final candidates in my mobile and made my decision after carefully going through each option.   Luckily, the shop keeper was kind enough to agree on lending me that toy car for free, given that I returned it in the same condition. This was important because my production was self-financed and saving money in areas where I could would allow me to spend more in other areas that could benefit my music video (for example renting a drone).

Location Scouting (2)

For the indoor scenes, I tried to arrange houses for different characters. However, that wasn't possible. Thereafter, I decided to film all the indoor scenes in my house, where different rooms are allocated for different characters. That would be more practical and easier in terms of transportation. The gate Main character's bedroom (male) Main character's hall (male) Female character's hall  Drawer for taser scene  The Washroom Playing area (for the kid)

Location Scouting (1)

Only a few outdoor locations are required for my music video. Luckily, most of the outdoor locations I selected are situated in the same area. This would be very helpful during the filming process. The Cafe Sidewalk Terraces for high angled shots The Park                                        The Parking Lot  Road (for the kid's walk scene)

Focus Groups

I gathered groups of people and  presented my storyline/storyboard to them. I received constructive criticism which helped me alter certain parts of the video in a way that would please the audience. This session proved beneficial as it helped me understand the audience's perception of my music promotional video. This step is essential to understand how to create a media text that can manipulate the emotions of viewers easily.

Casting Actors

Working on projects such as promotional videos for events, advertisements, etc enables me to be exposed to the different challenges, ideas of team members, and most importantly people whom I can cast as actors in my personal projects. I worked with one of the students whom I had auditioned in school (for the music video of the song 'CRUSH') in making an advertisement. (  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g0bhG82rsZ6MfWWLGqmu2r-Jp5ybEDpc/view  ). Her attitude on set was very positive and she wasn't camera conscious at all. This is an important quality for increasing the efficiency of work on set. She also fit the criteria for the female character in my music video which included being bold. Her name is Aroob For the male Actor, who has the main lead in the music video, I chose a very fitting student. Ironically, he was the one who sang the song 'Take on me' in the music room during to which I first came across the song. Since he already knew the song and

A group of students requested me to shoot and edit an advertisement for them (for a business competition). To produce an appealing and innovative media text I used masking, animation, and overlays during editing. The decisions I had to make during production (shooting) were determined by the effects I had in mind for the video.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g0bhG82rsZ6MfWWLGqmu2r-Jp5ybEDpc/view
