Shooting (Day 6)

Today shooting took place in the media lab of my school. I filmed the performance clips of Sheece. A green screen was set and illuminated using two YN300 LED flashlights mounted on tripods (that were set at 45 degrees from the center.) The distance of the tripods aways from the green screen was adjusted to remove shadows of Sheece on the green screen. Another flashlight (mounted on a camera) was shone on the actors to brighten them up in the shot.

I borrowed a microphone, microphone stand, and an electric guitar from the music room. I directed Sheece to lip sing to the song that was played on the speakers. First I told him to perform on the song as it is. The second time I made him lip sing to the same song that I had slowed down to 50%. This would allow me to speed the clip to 200%, causing his movements to become fidgety and his lip movement to be in-sync with the lyrics of the song in its original pace. This technique is opposite to the one I carried out in my practice video. (https://youtu.be/gLMcL-O3KKc).

SCREENING

Once the music video was finally made, I was dying to see the audience reaction. Not just online but in real life too! The feedback I got was very positive and gratifying. The best part was showing the music video to the actors, who were amazed by the edited version of the clips they remembered shooting.

Shooting (Day 3)

Today we had to shoot the police car and dinky scenes. No matter how much you plan a shoot, some problems may inevitably rise. Today I had to deal with two unfortunate situations and make quick decisions. I had cut the letters in the word 'POLICE' out from black chart papers and pasted them on the 'police car'. However, while moving the car from one location to another, the letter 'O' fell off the car. A friend went in his car back the same route to find the cut-out but he couldn't. Subsequently, I decided to remove all the letters from the car and carry on with the shot to prevent wasting further time and decided to add an animated title during editing.  Another problem that I faced was due to the fact that I was swept away in taking care of other stuff and I forgot to double check the costume of my actor, Sheece.  We carried out the scene in which a police officer arrests him. Afterwards, I realized that he had worn a hat which he wasn...
